      Coils for XJ1100

Thanks for the reply Randy. My XJ1100 coils have the leads permanently attached to the coils and the ones on E-bay don't.....yamaha is new to me.......with that being said...do you think I can install terminal ends to the coils up for sale on E-bay?

Bill, from the photo, those coils on ebay have the leads permanently attached on the coil end. Maybe I don't understand your question. Do you mean the spark plug end? If you do, you have alot of options on that end. You can replace the caps or re-use your own.

GEEZ and all i wanted to post was:
If you can't fix it with a hammer it must be electrical ( read on here somewhere) AND wait for TC the electrics Guru.
Too late for me too. Oh well atleast you tried TC.

Don't immediately assume that because one solution worked for someone that it must work for everyone.

As for Mikes XS coils being MUCH cheaper, don't jump to that conclusion either. Do the math.

                      Coils - $68
                      Wires- $9
                      Caps - $14
                      Total - $91

The ones on ebay were $105 total

So let's say Mr. Desperate DID get Mikes coils, he'd still have to fabricate a mounting arrangement cause they mount 45 degrees off, and rewire his connector plugs to fit his harness. That's assuming he has the skill (no foul intended here, it's just an unknown fact).

Good points Randy...but the coils on ebay are used...with no quarantee they'll work...caveat emptor...if it were me...I'd buy NEW from Mikes and deal with the other "issues"...YMMV
