    i need pistons

anyone got any ideas where i can get a standard set of pistons and rings without paying through the nose,i just bought an xs1100 here in england as a project but the pistons in the box are pretty scuffed(think it ran dry for a while)
dont mind if they're sourced in the states as i'll pay shipping if its worth it.
not after an oversize set if it can be helped

cleaned the crowns up, they got 25 stamped in the tops so guessing they oversized!

does anyone know if this means that the bores dont have much metal left to give, i.e can i only get away with a hone/deglaze?

        hone/deglaze?

Will need to pull pistons out and measure cylinders.
Cylinders don't normally wear evenly so just sticking in some new rings is taking a chance that the problem is still there.

I did find on a 79F which had over 12,000 miles on it that the cylinders when measured with a dial gage where near perfect condiction. Used em on a bike I rebuilt for a guy.

On another note, the cylinders themselves are replaceable should you be able to find a FUBARed engine cheep enough.
Could get lucky and get an entire top end.

The 25 means that the pistons are the first oversize, or.25mm over. I have seen a few .25 over piston ring sets on ebay in the past, or you may be able to find some at a parts supplier in your area. In fact I bought some on ebay a few years ago, and needed them on the Bag Lady when I rebuilt the engine over the past winter.
