looking to see how much a cdi box is

i need a cdi box,coils but have very little money still try to get this old gril running again thanks

Freebyrd - have you spent a bit of time browsing through the technical articles here in the forum, especially the chapters on electrical repairs? Just about every XS11 ever built has or has had a fairly easy-to-fix problem with the flexible wires coming from the ignition pick-up coils. This might lead you to believe the black box and or coils are dead. Similarly, a cold solder connection, again easy to fix, is often the problem with a flakey black box. And finally, simply trimming 1/4" off the ends of the sparkplug wires will often restore spark where it was poor before. Have a good read through all the tech stuff first, and you may save youself a lot of money.
