need buying advice

I'm new to the association, and I love the xs1100 Midnight Special. I currently own a Royal Star Tour Classic.
I have a question. What would a 1980 or '81 xs1100 Mightnight Special go for today? I found one I am interested in buying, and would like to know what is a fair price to pay for it. It seems to be in excellent condition, one owner, all orig., with 20,000 mi. Any thoughts?

I would think $2000 would be a fair offer it is in very good cosmetic shape, and ran good. It's the shiney (gold) bits and the black pipes that are so hard to restore/locate on these. The mechanical stuff is easy and parts are available.
