The patient- 82XJ1100
The problem- Headlight may or may not come on. Or go out once bike is started.
Solution- I finally traced it down to the starter button. The contacts were dirty enough that it wasnt always making contact. The final clue was when I was sitting on the XJ totally frustrated, not being able to find out what's wrong. I had my thumb resting on the starter button and the light started flickering along with my shakey thumb! I disassymbled the switch and cleaned contacts with steel wool. Hip hip hoo-freakin-ray!!! I don't know if anyone else has had this happen, it was a very frustrating problem! If any of y'all are having these headlight headaches, try it out-Tom.
