I am so sorry you're sick and that you have lost someone. I have friends who were sick and know folks who have been lost too. That is our reality unfortunately whether reported by Fox News or CNN or MSNBC or NPR.

Legitimate conversation about the potential effects of this pandemic was started in reference to a rally I host every summer in Colorado. It happens to be in an oil thread, however that is typical when things come to mind and guys bring them up.

It's a shame New York City was hit so hard.

Please find the peace you are looking for and I will refrain from bringing up the current world situation as it came across as insensitivity. My apologies on that.

Well, yeah, they are very fortunate tires!

And since motorcycle tires are made from synthetic rubber compounds that are in turn derived from conventional oil or even fully synthetic oil the tires are on-topic in the "Synthetic Oil" thread.

I agree, the negative news is what we see, there is a lot going on that's better then ever will be reported. My brother is a physician's assistant and I have the number of friends that are close to the medical field. There's a lot of good going on.

And any tire that gets the glory of being shod on to an xs 1100 is a lucky tire.

It takes you to Fox Nooze. I trimmed the l facebook com and the Face Book Click ID (fbclid=) from the end of the link for you, that's what gives the "Leaving Facebook" message.

The numbers you may have missed that put COVID-19 in perspective

You know what? I think the 6-ply Metzeler Marathon ME880 is the best tire for the XS/XJ1100.

Welcome to the fray Greg! You're always up for a good oil thread, although I can't tell what that link talks about. If it's about this damn virus or about a wholesome oil thread?

Yeah I think other layers of this virus onion are being peeled back but people haven't talked about them yet.

Reality is we have no natural immunity to this disease, we're slowing the spread however until a vaccine is introduced and people can be given immunity without getting the disease, this thing risks blowing up again and again. And a vaccine is still a long ways off, more than just months.

I've been able to go for rides with no problem, always have something I could grab at an essential store so it's legit to be on the back roads going between towns to look for more toilet paper as my grocery store doesn't have any (true).

I'm thinking we all decide Colorado is the mecca for toilet paper and say that's where we're going to get an essential supply.

    Hi Howard,
While still a plan if this virus thing drags on much longer. Will it be safe to travel ? Will the border be open ? Etc.

The stock clutches in my bikes didn't slip with synthetic oil but I rebuilt them with new steels, frictions, and Barnett springs. Phil, you rode my XJ11 when you were here in California and the lever wasn't too hard to use.

New steels were waste of money, really, because the old ones were fine but anyway, I bet I could dump a bottle of Moly additive into a fresh fill of synthetic oil and the clutch wouldn't slip... okay, maybe not but you know what I mean!
