I have been lurking here for the past couple of months, and I want to say thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge and experience on this board. It didn't matter what I wanted to do - there is lots of advice here.
When I first got my 81 special it didn't run. I cleaned the carbs, and it ran on three cylinders - then I cleaned them again, and now it runs great - still need to get them synched. I took off the front forks and installed new seals. Put on a new set of Bridgestone S11's. Now I am going to flush the front & back brakes - change the oil in the middle & rear drives, finish painting the tank & side covers (there was even lots of advice here about that!), & change the oil & filter. I should be riding by the end of the weekend.

Next - a windshield. I'm leaning towards one of the slipstream models ( Hellfire probably) - as I don't have a lot of cash.
