I just bought a new battery, at Sam's Club, for less than $30. My old one was to the point that I had to boost it to start the bike when it was cold. If I had known they were so reasonable, I would have bought one sooner. The PO had put in a smaller (wrong size) battery and it was amazing that it lasted as long as it did.
With the old battery, it took a few seconds to start and with the new one, it fired immediately. I guess having full voltage at the ignition box makes a difference.
