I dunno. I doubt there is a factory metric gauge so most likely an aftermarket gauge marked in SI Bar; could also be a language barrier if Steve's not a native English speaker.

From his post it looks like he has or had the pump out on the bench. If the engine is shagged too then changing the oil pump won't really help but I suppose it is easier to try another pump and check the oil pressure. At least he'll have a good oil pump if it doesn't work and the engine has to be rebuilt or scrapped.

I'm a bit lost on this one... There are no "Bars" on the oil pressure light. Only on or off. The XJ has an oil LEVEL indicator, and no pressure indicator. Which are we talking about here?

He's in SA, so the shipping may be a bit steep....

To answer one question, no, there isn't a pump off another size/model bike that will work. But a oil pump off any year XS11 or XJ11 will, so that gives you some choices.

    why

i was getting 1-2 bar pessure and then i stiped them and found some scaw markes around the barrel and in the housing wich will drop the pressure

    thanks

    Welcome to the forum, Steve!

The oil pumps are usually pretty stable and reliable, what are you hearing that makes you believe there might be a problem with the oil pressure?
