Finally rode the Special on the freeway for more than an hour each way.
I'd been getting low 30's running around town and going to work at under 35mph.
43mpg on the down trip and 41 on the home leg!
Now I'm feeling a lot better that I got things set up correctly.
I did find out that I need a different helmet for my large gourd. Developed a hotspot above my forehead.
Picked up a fine Scorpion over the weekend. We'll see how it does on the next run.
