JUst a quick note for the 82 xj owners out there. check the kotter pin that secures the brake plunger rod to the pedal. if by chance this pin breaks the shaft will fall out and away goes the plunger since it is not attached inside the master cylider. (its a strange feeling to discover no pedal in mid intersection.) after losing it i was informed by my fine local yamaha dealer this part is discontinued by yamaha and all there spares are gone. unfortunately none of the local salvage yards had one either. needless i went back to the spot i felt i lost it and sure enough after walking 2 miles i found my plunger. a bit of cleaning and a new kotter pin and rod and the max was back in action. so the moral of this boring story is, funny how a .25 pin can disable an entire cycle.
cheers,
cheers,
