I met a new riding partner this weekend, who suggested I raise the front of my windshield to vent in more cool air. I have been thinking about lowering the shield a couple of inches, and pivoting the front up would accomplish this, so I gave it a try, and it seems to work very well. All I had to do was pull the shield off the bike and remove the gasket, then replace the mounting screws with longer ones and add spacers, I raised it about 3/4 using 1/4" automotive fuel hose from 1/4" to 3/4"with the screws running through the center, this lowered the top edge about 2 1/2" allowing me to see over it better and eliminating the dead air space behind it. there were no permanent changes, so if I decide to change it back, all I have to do is change it back the way it was. I run a Venturer fairing so I don't know if this modification will work on any other brand. I'll post pics, if anyone is interested.
