Had noticed that the part numbers for the BS34 carb float bowls are not the same across the rack. Beleave this is related to inner set of main jets on some carbs being up one size to help cool those cylinders.
Took a look at some bowls on an 80'.
#1 and #4 outside carb pair
Found on the inside (flat spot) a number 1 (as well as 4 dots in the same configuration)
On the middle pair same spot looked like part of a "2" and the four dots were in a little different configeration.
Since all the bowls look the same, these marks probably signify that the "jet" in the bowls are different and most likely the inside pair are up one size like the mains and for the same reason.
