Hi all, Newbie here,
Iam a owner of a1978 xs1100e. Just purchased, was sittin in a barn for 8 1/2 years. Was told that it ran, when parked, but, dont think so. 1st thing I checked was electrical. Bad rec./reg., replaced it elec, seems fine, well, Ill see after I get it started, ll.
Anyway pulled off the carb, & thoroughly cleaned it out, what a mess, lol. got it back together, and did the boots with rubber sealer I obtained from napa today. Heres My delema. I got the manual for the bike , climer, but, the fuel, and all the vacuum hoses were gone. And I sorta figered out the fuel goes into the bottem of the carb nipples between 1&2, & 3&4 from each side of the tank petcocks. And Iam stumped, lol. can any1 tell Me where all the hoses hook up ; to, from, etc. This is My 1st yamaha, so, sorta lost. Oh, did a compression check, & all the barrels were around 148#, with hardly no difference when I added a little oil, so, that made Me kinda happy. So, Ill stop here & see what I can find out from all You owners. This probably wont be my last post, as, I know Ill run into sumpthing else.
Thankyou for your time, and consideration in the above matter, & I await your replys. Thankyou in advance, & keep da wind in your face, Andy B. LTR !!
