Radian YX600 Timing Chain in way of removing cylinder head

I am removing the cylinder head on my 1986 Radian YX 600. The timing chain is getting caught on the rails that the chain guide sets on. How do I get the chain out of the way so I can remove the cylinder head? Everything has gone pretty easy up to this point and I'm not sure if I should attempt to pry on it to get it free.? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
