So my love of motorcycles and the fun that goes into seeing them restored has prompted me to purchase another motorcycle for my next project. I have been looking around for several months to try and find a bike with spoke wheels. And it occurred to me that I would get a better response from my wife if I built one for her. She has never been on a motorcycle...heck I don't think she has even sat on mine. So I figured what ever I bought it needed to be a small CC bike. I also didn't care much for what condition it was in as long as everything was there, and it had a clean title. And nothing disfigured on the bike that would defeat the purpose of a full restore. At first I looked at a 74 XS650 basket case but with the frame cut for making a hard tail I decided to look a little more local. And last Thursday a 1974 CB360T popped up on Craigslist for $500. I initially saw the post 6 hours after it was posted and sent him a message offering $300. He got back to me the next day letting me know he has someone else coming to look at the bike. Well lucky me that fell through . So he sent me a message on saturday asking if I was still interested. We ended up settling on $400. When I looked at it I was very happy with the condition of the bike. Nothing cosmetically wrong with it except the seat will need to be replaced. It was ridden last in 2002 and the guy said it turned over before he posted it up on craigslist. Once I finish putting the last of the things on the XS11 this one will come into the office for a complete tear down and then I'm not modifying the frame but I'm creating a custom paint job so the bike looks like toothless from How to train your dragon (Her favorite movie). And making a custom fairing for the front to look like his head. Much work ahead of me!
79F with two parts bikes (78E and a 79F). Ran it for the first season all the way through the summer. more work to do this Spring!
