  • Found a bike for my Fiancé. A CB350Four

Aaaaand... it's another project. I must be a glutton for punishment. Kidding aside, I have always loved the process of restoring old stuff. I have a collection of old tools that I brought back from rusty and abused to clean and loved. Love the patina of age on those tools. With bikes I'm more of a showroom resto guy although with the cost of re-chroming where I live and my smallish budget, that's where I draw the showroom line.

Anyway, enough about me here's the bike:

It's like a Swiss watch compared to the XS11. In size, not quality. Just look at those widdle tiny butterfwy valves. OOhhh! they are in awe at how big the XS is! AHEMMM. Sorry, getting carried away here.

Showa rear shocks, ACCT, Jardine 4-2 spaghetti pipes.
1979 XS1100F Canadian, stock exhaust. Top end rebuild in progress.

You are starting with a pretty sweet looking old Honda. Very classy lines, and it will shine like loonie, or maybe even a twoonie when you're done with it. Looking good!

        CB350 four

The CB350 four and the 400 four are about the nicest to ride around town bikes of all time. I sold and rode both models. Owned two 400 fours.
Up till then my favourite and most comfortable around town bike was a 500 BMW with Earls forks. It handled awful in corners if the pavement was uneven.

My 83 Yamaha 400 Seca is now my around town bike, and it will hit 90 on the highway. But the Honda is a nicer ride. A plus for your GF and anyone with ducks disease is the low seat height.

Thanks. I really like the feel of the bike just sitting on it. It does have low handlebars (not stock) so it puts you in the cafe position. Turns out it's a '74. Should be a great bike to learn on.

Cheers. Maybe I'll see you on the road soon.

Chrome plating is just so expensive. On my bikes exhaust the chrom was shot so I sandblasted the exhaust and painted satin black. On the GS1000 I did for my brother I dropped off his system and had it ceramic coated satin black. $135 for an entire 4 into 2 system coated and it looks great. I do love the look of chrome plated steel.

                Orange4,
Sweet little learner. Keep us posted on the progress of the cb350.

                mharrington,
Can you post some pics of the ceramic coated exhaust?

                Thanks,
