That bike pictured in the kijjiii ad, is an RH Aussie model I think, but who knows, maybe that had a few in Canada also.

I saw that 500 at Ottawa Yamaha. It will be a nice little runabout when it's done.

As far as the 1100G goes, I doubt it will run as strong as an XS, as it was put into more of a sport-tourer role when the 16V engine came out. Still a nice bike, and there is some performance potential there, just nowhere near what you'd get out of an E.

I got a portable garage now so I should be able to start rebuilding the ones I have now to be sold off over the next few years. I really only want 3 of the 8 I have now. My 79 and 79 XS11s and the recent XS500 I now have.

I had to have this one. I will do full restoration on it. It takes me back to the day when I fell into the sport. I can recall the day the dealer delivered that same model to my house as if it were yesterday :-)

The LAST one

I acquired the last bike I wanted today. I now have a 1978 XS500. She needs work but is almost a complete bike. I wanted this one because the 1978 XS500 was the first bike I ever owned. It is also of similar style to the XS1100 so she is like my restored bikes little sister. This one will be FUN!

Hey Rob, I had...yes unfortunately had....an F150 crew cab with the 5.4L V8 it was a very nice truck and would tow a freight train. Our boy scout troop has a large trailer loaded top to bottom with tents and tarps, cooking gear, stoves...etc.....we also load it wiht the frozen food for a week long stay in the Smokies. I towed it with that F150 from Cincy down, a 5 hour trip though the appalachain mountain foothills, some of which seem like the actual mountains. My neighbor has that same Dodge Hemi. He loves it as well. Only bad thing about them is the Gallons per mile you get.

As to the 120-160 kmh, well, as that converts to 100 MPH, I can assure you I have taken every vehicle I have ever owned that fast and more. So no worries about that, glad the truck rides nice.

The fuel usage with this one will be slightly less then I was getting in the Dakota. This one has the new 5 speed trany and also automatically shuts down 4 cylinders when idling or cruising.
In any case I have my work car for getting to and from work as well as for short errands. My personal truck is really just for pleasure and towing my camper so gas consumption is not really a big concern for me.
The Dakota would have been a hand full at 100 MPH with the stiff bounce all over the place suspension it had. This thing is like a car. The faster it goes the smoother it gets. LOL

Well I don't drive that fast on a regular basis but 120 KM in pretty typical on our divided 4 lane highways. I was just bringing her up to a "good" speed as is recommended for the engine break in :-)

That engine is not offered in the 1500 series but this one does have the 5.7 liter HEMI :-) I took her out for a run on the highway this afternoon and she moves briskly from 120 KM to 160 KM per hour and is so smooth you don't even feel like your moving that fast.

After having the load carrying issue with the Dakota and other towing issues with my camper I bit the bullet and bough this puppy. What a NICE truck to be driving. Very smooth and loads of power :-)
