It was 40 degrees today so I decided to try on the rebel shocks I had purchased for my XS400 (35.00 on ebay).
Lowers the bike about 2" and I like the look and feel. I'm hopeful that I won't have any significant clearance issues and will have to tighten the chain. I'll need to figure out how to adjust the pre-load on these (all I see are several round holes).
The only fit issues I can see are: 1) I'm going to have to put an 'indentation' on my chain guard as these shocks are bigger around at the bottom; 2) the bushing sizes are different from my stock shocks. Found a website (smallparts.com) and ordered new bushings for under 10 bucks incl. shipping.
Counting the days till' spring!
