He / she is doing OK, Woke me up at 2 AM for a feeding. Then I feed it again before work at 6 AM and went home for 10 AM so all appears to be good. The vet did however tell me to hold off on handling the cat until it's checked out. Told me that if I get scratched of bit to make sure my tetanus shots are up to date. Also stated rather firmly to not let it come in contact with my other cat or dog until cleared as being OK. So I will have to wait until Friday evening before doing much other then keeping it feed, watered and warm. It slept with a water bottle filled with hot water late night. It seems content for now.

Both our cats were wild barn kittens. They were domesticated within days. One is the greatest mouse hunter I have ever seen and the other thinks he's human and should be treat as such!

Cat Story

My houseguest, (another stray???) saw this one abandoned laying out on the patio, near comatose, barely breathing. It’s eyes were closed, had very little hair and malformed whiskers.
Weighted about five ounces.
Now three months later she’s almost two and a half pounds.



My daughter named her Tinker
I call her Spazz.
Only cat I’ve ever seen that can get into a fight with a little piece of paper and loose.
Does not walk like a cat, but marches like a goose stepping storm trooper (literally).
Only in the last week or two has she been able cross the kitchen floor without either crashing into something or tripping over her own feet, hence I call her Spazz. May have suffered permanent brain damage but she seems to enjoy life so she is now part of the household.

Yeah...cats love sneezing, has a calmimg effect on them...

No, I think its because of their close relationship to Satan and they like seeing me in misery.

This is what I know about cats. I am highly allergic to them, they will put me in a hospital, pronto. Cats know this, so they instinctively do their best to rub themselves all over my face. It took me a long time to figure out that cats hate eye to eye contact. They see it as a sign of aggression. Its my only defense against tabby. So, if you want to befriend it, don't stare at it, look away and talk in a calming voice.

Sneeze a few times, and the befriending process will be accelerated.

It must be younger then I guessed. It's not even weaned yet. Been crying since I picked it up. Sleeping now on a full belly of bottle fed kittens milk replacement. If I can "restore" it maybe I'll call it "XS"

While vacationing in Guaymas Mexico baack in 1980 I saw this cat thhat was living in the wild...but one look at it told me it was a cat that someone had bred. It was a Birman but its markings were wrong for the breed...so the breeder just turned it loose...The cat would come by my rented cottage but wouldn't get too close...he was hunting mice and birds and othr rodents...I got one of those cage traps and baited it with some food...left it on the porch one nite...next morning I had a cat. He was very intelligent but would not allow me to pick him up and hold him...I brought him back to my home in Tucson, and within a few weeks he had adapted to domestic life and became a very loyal and loving cat.The 1st week I had him he hid under the bed not eating or drinking...so I had to gently coax him out from under the bed...talking to him and petting him pretty soon he came out and man he was hungry..after that it just got progressively better...I had him 15 years...oh and I had to stop letting him outdoors because he would come back with half eaten rabbitts and left the rest for me...LOLWhen I originally got him he was close to a year old ...so this little kitten in a cage should not take long to adjust to domestic life...all it takes is someone who cares and is sensitive enough to the critter. Cats are very adaptable especially at a very young age. Good luck with it.

A good diet, some clean water, A clean cat box and a gentle voice will have that kitten in your heart in no time..

Deb thinks 6 weeks. Still has the "baby blue" eyes.

I've been married to a cat person now headed for 30 years and we have rescued cats for all of those years. In all that time we only had two that had behavior that didn't settle down.

Cats are pretty adaptable..

There was a lady around here who ran an illegal kitty farm (Bengal cats), and died of cancer a couple of years ago. A rescue outfit put an ad in the paper for people to adopt them.

When I went to look there were two left, one a beautiful tan and brown striped Bengal, the other a little black Bengal with almost no hair. I asked how old the small one was and they said 7 months. My girlfriend thought I should adopt the pretty one but I felt sorry for the scrawny black kitten.

I thought about it for 2 days, then went back to get the black one, 'cause I didn't think it had much of a chance at getting adopted. They went to get the paperwork and I checked the cat out, it had adult teeth...no way it was a kitten, and I told them so. They looked again at the paperwork and it was for another cat, the one I was looking at was 2 1/2 years old (but only 7 lbs). It had been raised in a cage all it's life and would not allow itself to be picked up. Just went into total panic. The hair was all gone because of stress.

I adopted it anyway, and it's the coolest cat ever, all it's hair grew back..still doesn't like to be picked up, but you can't sit down for 10 minutes without the cat begging to get it's belly rubbed, or sitting on your lap. It fetches like a dog, and will drive you crazy begging you to play fetch.

The cat spent the first several days at my house on the closet, in a box...the world out there was just too big for it. But it finally made it's way out, and now will even peek out the front door when I open it.

Just love your cat, treat it right and it'll be fine.
