  • Looks like I haven't logged in for a month

Since the start of today, every time I come to the site, everything that is less than about a month old is all in bold like I haven't viewed it recently.

What did I change that makes this happen?

I'm getting that too, Ivan. I was in here earlier today checking up on things. Then I log in after supper and it tellls me there are 8 pages, approx 170 new notes, that I haven't seen yet. My first thought was "there's a lot of admin work ahead deleting some spammer that managed to sneak in through all the security". Man, I'm glad that's not what happened.

TC - any idea what just happened? Anything to do with the Mayan calendar?

      Yep,

I saw a post by JWSanders in the Member's Lounge NEW XS11.com site thread, about a setting he changed, in part from Tods/TrBig's urging about having it remember that a person hadn't read the threads just because they visit the site which would set the cookies for all threads/replies at that time/date being set to read.

NOW it requires the reader to actually view the Forums, and threads, but if you don't really want to read them, once you are IN the forum, just click on the FORUM TOOLS and select MARK THIS FORUM READ, and they will all be set back to READ, until actually NEW material is posted, etc.!

I used to get upset about going to the site, but then getting interrupted, having to leave it, close the browser/computer, and then when I came back, all the threads had been marked read, so I had to look at the actual dates and times to determine which ones I had actually read or not, so I would know which ones to look in!

I couldn't find FORUM TOOLS but I did find MARK THIS FORUM READ in QUICK LINKS and it seemed to work.
